About

The Society was founded in February 2005.

Its long term aims are to explore and promote interest in, and knowledge of, the public and social history of the former Borough of Leyton and its surroundings.
You do not have to be an academic historian to play a part; there are many ways of exploring local history.
The Society is instructive, sociable and, most of all informative and fun.
The Society’s activities reflect the diversity of the community. Membership is open to all who support its aims and objectives, regardless of race/ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation, age or faith.
The Society has an annual programme of ten lectures and occasional visits. Members also receive a regular newsletter.
